Will turns 8

We have an 8 year old. Who would have thought that we'd survive eight years. But here we are. We celebrates in style with a Harry potter party that was a blast to celebrate and so much fun to carry out. Aside from a few breakdowns from will, the party went perfect. At age 8 Will still struggles with his competitive nature ...something that one day will come to his advantage. I've got about 1000 pictures that I will save for later and instead jut share the one. That's him on the phone with Aunt Cari. He looks so big.

So here are 8 things we love about Will
1. He loves to snuggle. He and addi have been sharing a bed the past few weeks because grandma is in town. He wants to snuggle up close to Addi. She on the other hands wants nothing to do with snuggles. To she told him that she had a surprise for his birthday ... A special snuggle night. Oh my sweetness
2. I am so proud of the way that he tries new things. The boy has been to 3 schools in 3 years and if we told him he was going to a new one next year, he'd give it a go. I like that about him. That he'll give things a try. I'm remembering that time I drug him on tower of terror at Disneyland or last year when I made him run that 5k.
3. While it may not be is most redeeming quality now, I know looking back I'll be happy to say that he has a competitive streak in him.
4. He loves his sisters dearly. Even though their cuteness sometimes steals the show for him.
5. He still calls me mommy despite a few strange looks for his older friends. I remember growing up we were friends with a family and their son called his parents mommy and daddy until he was probably a teenager. I thought it was strange then but now. .. Now I'd take mommy until he was 25.
6. He's thoughtful. Not always but he has these great moments of thoughtfulness. Nana has been working in a quilt for him for over a year and gave it to him today. When i tucked him in he was staring at it thinking about just how long it took her. He wanted to know the difference between quilts and blankets and I told him that quilts are sewed together with love. He just smiled.
7. Rationale thinking but he still believes. His mind works in a different way. And yet he still believes. He believes we almost caught a leprechaun on Friday night and that the Easter bunny is headed our way.
8. I love most that he's ours and that he made rob and I a mommy and a daddy 8 years ago. This kid stole our heart and keeps filling it with love every day (and sometimes madness).

Happy birthday buddy.
