My good friend Suzanne takes baby and newborn photos and we were honored to have a morning in her great studio in NW PDX. She has the COOLEST set up in this huge barn/garage. She's an artist and man...artist just know how to get inspired! or at least to create an inspiring surrounding! Here's the results of Suzanne's great work. To give you some perspective, the room was a boiling 87 degrees...HOT enough to keep Kenedi asleep and looking her best (no purple feet!) Then we had a space heater running on high and a hair dryer going on full blast to provide the white noise that every baby loves. The result....

Addi's Saturday
It started out like this
In a hand me down police costumer that was headed to Goodwill. It was a lot of plastic!
Then on to soccer...there is nothing cuter than girls in pink shin guards and fun colored socks. This is Addi's first year of soccer and boy oh boy, is she having FUN!
The first game of the season was rainy and wet. Addison does not like to be cold at all and so it was a bit of a stretch for her. her shorts actually belong to Will...size 7. Like all girl activities, soccer is mostly a social affair combined with a bit of jumping up and down and waving to the crowd.
Big KICK! This one was for her first G.O.A.L
While Addi played, Kenedi hid in her stroller like this....

Ms. Kenedi...on being 2 weeks old
Ms. Kenedi is 2 weeks old tomorrow. TOMORROW! Where does time go. Parents must ask themselves that question a million time in their lives. Here's what's funny....in the life of a newborn, two weeks is like a lifetime. Kenedi already looks like a different kid from the day she was born. Her little personality is coming out and her eyes are opening more and more each day. Here's a few things about Kenedi that we love the most.
Baby Kenedi at 13 days!
- She's a great eater. I've learned that great eating = good sleeping. Thus far, we get about two 4 hour stretches each night. Not bad. Throw in a little nighttime feeding that involves mommy laying down and dozing on and off (it's like an all night buffet!) and we are GOLDEN! I say this cautiously as we all know things change every two weeks with little ones.
- Her eye thing-y is gone and she looks like our other babies did. Kenedi was born with a clog tear duct on both ends. It looked like a cyst in the corner of her eyes. It was weird. I hoped it would go away on its own but the optometrist said it probably wouldn't and so we had it probed. PROBED! That's a scary word when you are holding a newborn in your arms. It took 2 minutes and was worse for me than her and now all is well.
check out that EYE! WOW.
and after...
- Will & Addi LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kenedi. Love her. Kisses, hugs, more kisses, BIG hugs, and holding tightly are all part of our regular routine. The kids love her. It's like a little missing piece, that we never knew we couldn't find, has just popped into our family and found a perfect little home. It's so much fun to see it.
- She loves to be swaddled so tight it looks like it just may hurt a little. It's so cute. When else in your life to you long to be strapped inside something...???
- She is a sucker! We haven't had a sucker yet and boy oh boy is it a trip! She loves to suck. She sucked a blister in her hand in utero and since she came out has sucked on everything...her hand, a binky, pacifier, your shirt, nipples, whatever! The girl loves to suck.Thank god for the hospital issued pacifiers (I stole 4) and good sucking. Unlike Addi, I think this one will take a bottle and that will make everyone's life better around here!
Her first bath lasted all of 20 seconds until she screamed for her pacifier!
- Girl clothes! Enough said! Why are they so cute (although impossible to put on....)
- An umbilical cord that has funny names. Will calls it her 'intesticle cord' and Addi calls it her 'umbiblical cord' although her version comes out very garbled. Thankfully the thing came off yesterday and was proudly displayed on the coffee table for all to see (it's in the garbage now!)

Our latest addition: Kenedi Wrigley!
So EXCITED to welcome this sweet little gal to our family!
Not only is she cute as a button...but she has made out little family complete. Will and Addi are just taken with her. Since the moment they saw her they couldn't get enough of her, visiting us twice a day in the hospital just to make sure they soaked her all in. They were also very interested in her changing umbilical cord which went from white to black over the course of our hospital stay.
Kenedi was born September 1st, right on her due date, at 4:16am. Her birth was one that I will never repeat!!! She made it very clear that she completes this family... Rob and the kids had voted on her name a few weeks ago at the dinner table. We literally had 4 different baby name books back at the beginning of August because we were nameless. Rob and I compiled out lists of favorites, had the kids throw their favorites in too, and then we voted. The initial vote got us to a list of 26 names. Then the guinea pigs arrived and out list went down to 24. hmmmmm.....Kenedi was a late add last weekend and the kids loved it. I loved it too and so did Rob. This was a break thru! Wrigley is Rob's hope that if we name our girl's after Cubs monuments, then they just may win a penant someday. The actual spelling of her name was voted on in the hospital. How's that for a naming story!?
12 Sweet little things about Kenedi
- She is a Sucker! She sucked her hand in womb so hard that she came out with a blister on her fist and her arm. I think she will be our first pacifier baby.
- You can tell by looking at her exactly how she spent most of time in womb. She likes to be on her right side, hands at her mouth, and her frog legs kicking away. When I see her all curled up I can feel those little limbs in me.
- She popped out with a vengeance. No pain killers and barely time for an IV.
- She looks a little like Addi and a little like Will but has a bigger cone head than either of them. Seems like she was down and ready to come out long before the 1st and just sat it out for her due date.
- Rob keeps calling her Addison, who didn't actually get called by any other name than 'baby sister' until she was 18 months.
- She loves to lay skin to skin on her belly.
- The vibrating chair is her best friend. And really....who wouldn't love that thing?
- She has fury ears but not a lot of hair on her head.
- Her eyes are deep, deep blue although they aren't open much.
- She makes sweet little cooing sounds even now and only seems to try cry when we change poopy diapers.
- She spits up! We have never had to carry burp rags with Will or Addi so a spitter is something very new to me. I now understand the need to carry multiple changes of clothes with you at all times.
- She nurses like a champ....her sucking reflex is top notch!
Her stats: 8lbs, 8oz and 21 inches long.
And now, with this little lady here, our family feels just right as a party of FIVE.
