Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun...

Thank goodness the sun is shining!. One day of sun and you'd think it was the middle of July around here. By mid afternoon yesterday the kids were half naked running around in the neighbor's sprinkler. And then, a homemade root beer popsicle i the garden.


And tonight, Will and I got the outside toys out and turned on the hose for a favorite outside activity...dam building! The boy loves to make dams and direct the water all over the yard. This year, the conservationist in him worried for just a minute about depleting the city of its natural water source, and then quickly forgot about any potential water shortage we may incur due to an hour of the hose dribbling out. We built dams and his favorite line of the night was "Dam it"! whenever the water leaked through the dam. This was my cue to throw more mud on it to hopefully redirect water elsewhere. He got a kick out of "Dam it" and then I had to explain that sometimes mommies and daddies say that when they are angry. He just laughed.
