A tale of T-ball

What a cutie.  So BIG!

First days of practice.

T-ball seems like a rite of passage for young people. "Yes, you must stand out on the grass, pay attention, watch for the ball, no don't chase the butterfly, stand up, stand UP!, no, it's not over yet, it actually just began!" Just a few of the comments I can remember off the top of my head and really sus up t-ball for Will. We love baseball, baseball family (go CUBS!), through and through down to co-ed softball games on SUndays, playing catch in the back yard, hitting off the tee. But there is something abotu five years olds playing the sport that didn't quite do it for me. While Will was adorable in his little outfit, t-ball and the attention span of a five year old boy, don't go together too well. Nonetheless, i'm sure we'll be back next year for another round of silliness in the field and maybe at 6, Will won't have to take rests in left field during the game!

Day one of practice.  Don't you love it how they all come in their uniforms.  Too cute.
Why go around when you can go OVER mom?!
First game.  Lined up in order on the bench.  There are no outs in T-ball, every player gets a chance to bay each inning and run the bases.
You'll notice the hats and the lack of ability to see anything!

Snack time was a hit.  Even more important, what WE were bringing for snack!
Will taking a few swings.
And accepting his certificate from his coach at the end of the year.  Yeah-I'm pretty sure we'll be back next year!
