Not us. But our best buds down the street. Our family friends that match up oh so perfect to our family. I told the big kids on the car ride home from school today. The sign went up in their yard and we were eventually going up drive by. Will cried so hard. Tears of udder disappointment. Sad. His best bud his moving away. Not too far but far enough that us moms can't walk out the front door, wave to each other and know that the kids made it safely across the street. Change is hard. For everyone. No matter how old you are. It's always nice to get a reminder of that. It makes you appreciate the normal. The consistent in your life. And as with all types of change... Life will go on. We will make more plans to see them, not as often but enough to keep childhood friendships going strong. We'll have to fire up Skype more often and make a few more phone calls. All the things that you don't do when you live 3 houses away.
And speaking of changes... Rob reminds me last night that I only get to make 9 more birthday cakes for Will before he graduates from high school. Huh? These kids are growing up so fast. Today kenedi played in the sink. Her little arms barely reached. A favorite activity of all the kids - addi still does it from time to time.
