County Fair

we went to the county fair last week with Nana.  We arrived early and stayed all afternoon.  The kids enjoyed the shows more than anything.  We watched 3 shows with funny actors and silly jokes and they ased to see more.  We also walked through every barn looking at every animal.  Brought memories of Nana's 4-H days back!  Will couldn't quite grasp the whole 'showing' process and wanted to know why the pigs were walking around the pen.  Neither do I really but oh well!  Makes for a good fair!.  The rides were crazy expensive and super short but oh well...it's the fair!  We spent a LOT of time in the master gardens which are so beautiful.  I can't figure how people get lettuce to grow at all in the summer in a garden.  mine dies in may and what does stick around, the slugs get.

The kids got to pick carrots out of the garden, wash them, and then eat them.  such a sweet way to show where our food comes from.

yes please.  I'll take one of those in my backyard please. 

And Addi got to ride a horse.  She was in LOVE.  Wish we had a farm that she could ride horses on because she looked so at home up there.
